Apple devices, manufactured before April 2010, do not support sound output and will not emit sound from the Mini DisplayPort. The Ministry of DisplayPort, which supports sound and video, is only available in Apple devices issued after April 2010.
The adapter is one -way and operates only in the direction from minidp (computer) -> HDMI (screen/projector)
